Corsica GR-20

Europe's hardest long-distance trail and its summits, in one challenge.

What is the GR-20 challenge?

The GR-20 traverses Corsica from north to south along the island's mountainous spine. It's roughly 180 km with 10,000–12,000 metres of cumulative ascent — widely considered Europe's toughest long-distance trail.

This challenge collects the main summits you brush past or attack from the GR-20 itself: Monte Cinto, Paglia Orba, Monte Rotondo and company. You don't need to walk the full trail to tick off the peaks.

With the app you carry the list on your phone, log each ascent with a photo and date, and watch your progress grow without spreadsheets.

Frequently asked questions

What's the highest peak in Corsica?

Monte Cinto, at 2,706 metres.

Do I need to hike the whole GR-20?

No. You can attack the peaks one at a time from side approaches; the challenge is about the summits, not the trail.

When's the best season?

June to September. In winter the Corsican ridge carries snow and ice.
