What is the French Alps challenge?
The French Alps hold some of Europe's most iconic summits: Mont Blanc, Barre des Écrins, Grande Casse, Mont Pelvoux, La Meije. Serious alpinism, but also attainable objectives for anyone who trains for them.
This challenge covers the emblematic peaks in a manageable list. It isn't exhaustive — it aims to honour the giants of each massif: Mont Blanc, Vanoise, Écrins, Oisans.

Is it technical alpinism?
Most of them, yes. Several peaks require rope, crampons and ice axe. A few are walkable in summer.
