Barranco del Arroyo Aján
The Arroyo Aján canyon, located near Vega de Pas, offers a sustained aquatic experience with water in its pools almost always. The approach takes 40 minutes, following a path parallel to the stream. The initial 550m of aquatic trekking can be skipped if desired. The descent includes six rappels, the longest being 12m. Highlights include a 9m rappel from chemical anchors into a shallow pool, and a 12m rappel with double anchors for better rope retrieval or a 6m jump option. Anchors are well-equipped with chemical bolts and rings. Multiple escape routes are available throughout the canyon. A full wetsuit is recommended, and a single 30m rope is sufficient. The return walk to the car is very short, taking only 5 minutes.
