Barranco del Ajuez + Vía Ferrata K2

The Ajuez canyon, near Chóvar, is a dry route with good parabolt anchors. The approach takes 25 minutes from a parking area accessible by high-clearance vehicle, following a track and then a narrow path to mine ruins and a scree slope leading to the start, marked by a Nepalese bridge. The descent involves 3 to 4 rappels, with the longest being 31m. The first rappel is 15m, anchored on the left with two parabolts and a ring, plus an additional parabolt for a handline to a hanging belay. An escape route is available after the first rappel via a K2 via ferrata. The return walk is 15 minutes. No wetsuit is needed. A 2x60m or 1x70m rope is recommended. The canyon can be combined with a K2 via ferrata that crosses it, but this is not strictly necessary.
