Barranco del Arroyo de Cortes o Corbinet
The Barranco del Arroyo de Cortes, also known as Corbinet, is a moderately aquatic canyon with six rappels, the longest being 28 m. Vehicle access to the start and end is restricted, so park in Cortes de Pallás near the sports area. The 45-minute approach follows a track for 2 km, then a series of shortcuts and turns lead to the canyon bed. The descent begins with a 7 m rappel to reach the main 28 m rappel, which descends a beautiful waterfall with distinctive "tolva" formations. Anchors are generally parabolts, though some may be multimontis or natural (trees). After some walking, an escape route is available at a bridge. Further down, there's a 6 m rappel, a jumpable/downclimbable section, and a 5 m rappel that starts on a ramp and is also jumpable. A full wetsuit is recommended. The return walk takes 35 minutes, following a path out of the canyon. This route offers a mix of rappels and walking, with some aquatic features depending on water levels, which should be checked prior to descent.
