Barranc de Tarrascona o Morterets
The Tarrascona or Morterets canyon, located near Capafonts, begins with a 1h 15min approach along a track and trails, passing under the Foradada. The descent is mostly dry, requiring a wetsuit only after heavy rains. Anchors are a mix of parabolts and natural points. The descent features two main rappels: an initial 6m rappel with an awkward, overhanging start from a somewhat old rope handrail, followed by a 23m drop that is currently unequipped and requires downclimbing a rocky ramp or using a tree. The canyon is short, with a 10-minute return walk along the road. This canyon is suitable for those comfortable with basic rappelling and downclimbing, with a total vertical drop of 250m over 1000m. It requires 2x40m ropes if the 23m rappel is to be equipped.
