Torrent de l’Urdell Superior
The Torrent de l'Urdell Superior, also known as Salt de la Perdiu, is a short, vertical canyon with 7 rappels, the longest being 20m. The approach from the Puig Arnau parking takes 20 minutes, following an asphalt track and then a path to the riverbed. The canyon is very slippery. The descent includes 5 rappels, with the last three being chained. The second rappel's anchor can only accommodate 2-3 people. The first of these three rappels is long, almost requiring a 40m rope doubled to reach the next anchor. The exit of the final rappel is exposed and awkward. A 50m rope (or 2x30m) and a wetsuit top are recommended. The return is very quick, taking only 1 minute, and can be combined with the Puig Arnau via ferrata or a marked trail.
