Barranco de Caldarés
The Barranco de Caldarés, near Baños de Panticosa, is a highly aquatic canyon with 7 rappels, requiring a full wetsuit and two 40m ropes. The 30-minute approach follows the GR-11 trail alongside the Caldarés river. The descent begins with an aesthetic 35m rappel, which can be done directly through the waterfall or avoided by taking the right-hand anchor. This is followed by a 10m rappel down a slippery toboggan under a large block, and two 15m rappels, one into a shallow pool and another directly through the cascade, requiring caution with high water levels. An escape route is available at a bridge. The canyon continues with a 14m rappel and the 30m Salto del Pino. The return to the car is a very short 1 minute.
