Canal del Melindro
The Canal del Melindro is accessed from a small parking area near Creu de Regató, off the BP-1103 road in Montserrat. The approach takes 1.5 to 2 hours, involving a climb up the Canal del Miracle to Coll del Miracle, then a traverse past several rock formations like El Dit, La Monja, El Lloro, and El Bisbe, before descending to the Canal del Melindro. The descent is short, lasting 1 hour, with a total course length of 120 meters and a vertical drop of 100 meters. It features three rappels, all around 40 meters, equipped with double stainless steel parabolts and rings. The first rappel is a beautiful vertical drop within a narrow chimney. The second rappel starts in a vegetated and somewhat loose area, leading directly to the third. Care is needed to avoid snagging ropes and dislodging loose rock. The third rappel is more enclosed and descends a vertical ramp. Two 50m ropes are required. There are no escape routes along the course. The return walk takes 40 minutes, descending straight to a path and turning right.
