
Canal del Skpat
The Canal del Skpat, located near Horta de Sant Joan, is a dry canyon with 6 rappels, the longest being 35m. The approach takes 15 minutes from the Els Estrets parking, following a path that crosses the river and then ascends to the Canal de Magí before reaching Skpat. No wetsuit is needed, and the equipment consists of stainless steel parabolts. The descent features a 15m first rappel, somewhat bushy and tricky to locate, followed by another 15m single-point rappel past embedded blocks. The third rappel is a vertical, boxed 22m drop to a ledge. The route is equipped with reliable stainless steel parabolts. There are no escape routes once the descent begins. The return walk is a quick 10 minutes. This canyon is suitable for those looking for a technical, dry descent with good anchoring and no need for aquatic gear.
