Gorges del Riu Canaletes o Riu d’en Piqué

The Gorges del Riu Canaletes, also known as Riu d’en Piqué, is an aquatic canyon that usually carries water, requiring a full wetsuit. The 20-minute approach from the Horta de Sant Joan area follows a track suitable for cars, then a marked path to the river. The descent is 1.5 hours long, featuring a rock chaos with an optional siphon, small jumps, and dark, narrow sections. There are two rappels, the longest being 6m. The first 4m rappel can be jumped but is risky due to a submerged rock. The second 6m rappel has anchors on both sides, requiring a handrail on the right, and ends in a pool that should not be jumped. The return takes 25 minutes.
