
Canyon du Cély
The Canyon du Cély, near Eaux-Bonnes, starts with a 45-minute approach up a track and a path parallel to the canyon, ending with a rappel from a tree to the streambed. The descent features 11 rappels, with the longest being 55 m. The first rappel is a vertical 26 m, followed by an 8 m rappel and a series of low-gradient toboggans with shallow pools. The canyon is excellently equipped with chemical anchors. Two 60 m ropes and a full wetsuit are required. Water levels can increase significantly after rain. The descent takes 3 hours, and the return walk is a very short 5 minutes. Escape routes are available.
