Clot del Cortal

The Clot del Cortal is a short, dry canyon with three rappels, the longest being 15 m. The approach from Abella takes 45 minutes, following a track to a meadow before descending to the canyon bed. The route is equipped with good single-point stainless steel parabolts with rings, though some anchors may require improvisation due to fallen trees. The descent involves navigating many fallen trees, which can make progress difficult. The first rappel is 7 m, followed by a 15 m rappel that may require anchoring from a fallen log. The third rappel is 5 m, or can be downclimbed. After the rappels, there's a section of downclimbing to the Riera d’Abella. The return walk takes 1 hour, following the Riera d’Abella for 1.3 km before ascending a path to the parking area. This canyon is generally tranquil and suitable for those seeking a short, dry experience, but be prepared for obstacles from fallen trees.
