Barranc dels Clots

The Barranc dels Clots is approached in 40 minutes from Mas de Barberans, following the TV-3421 road, then a track suitable for high-clearance vehicles to a parking area. The approach continues on a track that becomes a trail, marked with red paint and cairns, involving some scrambling up the streambed before exiting right and descending to the first rappel. The descent, typically dry, features 5 rappels. The first is a 33m stepped diagonal rappel, followed by a 9m vertical drop. The third is a spectacular 23m free-hanging rappel. The fourth is a 7m rappel from a tree, with an option for a handrail. Anchors are generally good parabolts. This canyon requires two 35m ropes and takes about 2 hours to descend, with a 20-minute return walk. No wetsuit is needed.
