Salt del Colom

The Salt del Colom is a short, dry canyon with three rappels, the longest being 12m. The 5-minute approach from the parking near Mas de Barberans leads directly to the first rappel. Anchors are excellent, with stainless steel chemical bolts and parabolts. The descent starts with an optional 6m rappel (R1) or a walk-down. R2 offers central or left-hand anchoring options for an 8m rappel, noting the very slippery wall. An optional via ferrata to the left leads to a window with a 10-12m rappel (R3). Alternatively, bypass the via ferrata by going right. This canyon is usually dry, so a wetsuit is not typically needed, but be cautious if water levels are high. The return walk is a quick 5 minutes.
