Cova de l’Arcada + Torrent de la Coma Alta

The Cova de l’Arcada + Torrent de la Coma Alta route starts from a parking area with olive trees near El Bruc. The approach takes 1 hour, following a track and then a path that crosses the torrent and ascends towards Coll de Xincarró, passing by the Roca del Tambor. The final section to the canyon involves some equipped steps with 4 staples. The descent is short, taking 30 minutes, and is typically dry. It begins with some careful traverses along the left bank to overcome small obstacles. The first rappel is 10 meters, installed with double chemical anchors and double rings. The second, and main, rappel is 42 meters, located above the cave. A well-maintained handline avoids getting wet before reaching the rappel ledge, which has three chemical anchors, two with double rings. Two 50m ropes are required. The rock is conglomerate and the equipment is in excellent condition. The return walk takes 40 minutes.
