Barranco de Errekazar
This dry canyon in Ezperun, Navarra, offers 6 rappels, with the longest being 30m. The approach takes 25 minutes, following a track that is part of the Camino de Santiago, then descending a track drain to the streambed. The canyon is typically dry (a1) and requires two 30m ropes. The descent includes a short 5m rappel, followed by a 9m rappel on slippery ground, and an 8m rappel. A very simple 4m drop leads to an 8m rappel through a corridor. The final and most spectacular rappel is 30m, ending in a quarry, where caution is advised due to potentially unstable rock. Anchors consist of a mix of chemical, parabolts, and natural elements (trees). The return walk is very short, just 5 minutes, directly from the quarry to the parking area. The canyon is rated v3-a1-II.
