Barranco de Espantaperros
Barranco de Espantaperros is a dry canyon with a 30-minute off-trail approach, requiring intuition to navigate low vegetation. The descent takes 3 hours and features 12 rappels, with the longest being 20m. A car shuttle is recommended for access. The route begins with downclimbs and a long 20m cable handline leading to the first 10m rappel. A zip line is present but not used. After a 50m walk, a 5m chain handline leads to a 6m rappel, which can be downclimbed. Another 200m walk brings a 14m chain handline, bypassing a stagnant pool, to a vertical 19m rappel (14m with water) into a large dry pool. Anchors are parabolts. The return walk is 20 minutes. A 2x20m rope is recommended. No wetsuit is typically needed.
