Barranco Estrechos de Balcez

The Estrechos de Balcez is a highly aquatic, long canyon in the Sierra de Guara, requiring a full wetsuit. The approach from the upper parking takes 20 minutes, descending to the Isuala river via a metal bridge. A second car is essential for the return. The descent is characterized by extensive walking and swimming sections, with no rappels. It features narrow passages where the current carries you, a small cave to explore, and increasingly tight squeezes. There are no escape routes once in the canyon. The canyon opens up towards the end, and the exit is on the left, climbing steps to the lower parking by the road bridge. The return is immediate upon exiting the canyon.
