Barranco Estribiella
The Estribiella canyon, located near Siresa, offers a sustained descent with 15 rappels, the longest being 30m. The approach takes 1 hour, following the GR11.1 path through the forest to a meadow, then a diagonal traverse to the stream bed. Anchors are excellent, featuring stainless steel parabolts. The descent begins with a 25m rappel (or two 25m options if water is high), followed by a 10m rappel into a pool, a 4m rappel, and a secured toboggan. Subsequent rappels range from 5m to 20m, leading to the main 30m drop. Expect a mix of open and more enclosed sections. This canyon is best enjoyed with a full wetsuit due to its aquatic nature. Two 35m ropes are required. The return walk is a short 30 minutes. Two escape routes are available if needed.
