Torrent de la Font del Freixe + Riera d’Ogassa-Engorjat del Negre

The Torrent de la Font del Freixe, combined with Riera d’Ogassa-Engorjat del Negre, offers an aquatic descent near Sant Martí d’Ogassa. A car shuttle is recommended, with the lower car at Albergue Rural El Negre (permission required) and the upper car at Sant Martí d’Ogassa. The approach from the village is a mere 2 minutes to the torrent. The Font del Freixe section (v3-a1-I) begins after an open stretch with several escape routes. R1 is a 12m rappel over water from a tree, followed by R2, a shorter 6m rappel also from a tree. This section typically has a trickle of water, but the flow increases significantly after joining other torrents, making it ideal after rains. A full wetsuit and a 30m rope are needed. The combined descent takes 3 hours, covering 3000m with a 433m vertical drop. The route features multiple escape options throughout. The return walk is a quick 15 minutes. Anchors consist of ropes on trees and single-point parabolts, re-equipped in winter 2023.
