Salt de la Farga o Les Fonts del Llobregat
The Salt de la Farga, also known as Les Fonts del Llobregat, is a short and aquatic canyon near Castellar de n'Hug, ideal for beginners. The approach is a mere 5 minutes from the Hostal de les Fonts. The descent features 5 rappels, with the longest being 18 meters, often requiring crossing the active watercourse. Anchors are generally in very good condition, mostly chemical bolts, spits, and parabolts. The canyon is known for its slippery sections, so caution is advised. The first rappel is 10m into a deep pool, followed by a 3m rappel (formerly a toboggan). A 5m traverse leads to the main 18m rappel, which crosses the flow. The final two rappels are 8m and 12m, both involving active water and ending in pools. Full neoprene and two 20m ropes are recommended. Despite its short length (200m course, 40m vertical drop), the constant water flow makes it a fun and engaging experience. The return walk is also very short, taking only 5 minutes back to the car. It's a good option for a quick half-day outing.
