Barranco de la Fuen Blanca o Fuenblanca
Fuen Blanca, located near Espierba, offers a 1-hour approach from the Pineta Valley, crossing a bridge and following an increasingly steep path, sometimes losing cairns. The canyon is equipped with good parabolts, spits, and longlifes, and requires two 40 m ropes and a full wetsuit, as it has a surprising amount of water from a resurgence despite low active flow. The descent includes 10 rappels. R1 is a 40 m free-hanging rappel, though it can be skipped. R2 is 35 m, descending through the active water flow. Subsequent rappels include a 5 m drop from a tree and a spectacular 35 m rappel that passes through the water jet multiple times. There are two escape routes. The return walk is a quick 15 minutes. This canyon is a sustained vertical experience, suitable for those comfortable with significant rappels and a degree of commitment.
