Gorges del Foix
The Gorges del Foix is a short, aquatic canyon with two rappels, the longest being 12m, suitable for a full wetsuit. The 20-minute approach follows a PR trail past an old mill to a large dam, where the descent begins. Water usually flows but can dry in summer. The descent starts with a deep pool below the dam, followed by a small toboggan and another toboggan/jump into a deep pool. The first rappel is 6m from a root with a cordino, leading to a long pool for floating. The second rappel is 5m from a parabolt, ending in another long, deep pool. There are several escape routes. The return takes 35 minutes, following the PR trail back to the starting dam and then to the parking. This canyon is short but offers a beautiful environment with enjoyable jumps and toboggans.
