
Barranco de Gorgol o Betato
The Gorgol or Betato canyon, near Piedrafita de Jaca, offers a short and easy aquatic descent suitable for beginners and families with children over 12. The approach takes 20 minutes along a track, following signs with a figure-eight descender. The descent features two rappels, the longest being 18m, and several jumps and toboggans. The first rappel is 7m or 5m, with options to jump or rappel from both sides. The second rappel is 18m or 15m, also with multiple anchor options. Equipment consists of chemical anchors. After a 45-minute descent, the return walk is a quick 5 minutes. The canyon is equipped with chemical anchors and requires a full wetsuit and two 20m ropes.
