Cascada de Hormaza
The Cascada de Hormaza is a vertical canyon with 6 rappels, the longest being 35m, and generally low water flow. The approach takes 15 minutes, descending through rocky terrain and bypassing an unequipped 4m drop. The first rappel is a long 35m ramp from two parabolts. The canyon involves significant downclimbing and a delicate downclimb on the right side where an affluent joins. Anchors are acceptable, and a 2x40m rope is needed. No wetsuit is required. Escape routes are available at any point. The return is a quick 10-minute walk, and a car shuttle can simplify logistics.
