Torrent dels Hortals
Torrent dels Hortals is a dry, short canyon in Sant Cristòfol de la Vall, ideal for beginners. The approach takes 30 minutes along a marked, somewhat precarious path to a large stone cairn at the canyon entrance. The descent involves three rappels: a 9m rappel from the left with a handline, a 7m rappel from the right, and a final 20m rappel also from the right. All anchors are parabolts with rings. No wetsuit is needed. The canyon is equipped by Montserratinos and Peñaceros. The exit is to the left, quickly rejoining the ascent path for a 15-minute return to the car, parked near a wooden sign for Aransis.
