Barranco El Interminable o Chulingral + Cabecera de Central
The Barranco El Interminable, or Chulingral, near Vega de Pas, offers a long 5-hour descent with 24 rappels, the longest being 40m. The 45-minute approach starts from a track near the Mirador Alto de Estacas, continuing past houses and across unstable scree to the canyon bed. The canyon typically has low water flow, so a shorty or full wetsuit may be needed depending on conditions. Two 45m ropes are required. The first rappel, R1 (17m), has an old handrail and oxidized anchors, but the rappel itself is clean. Subsequent rappels are shorter (8m, 5m, 5m, 17m), with anchors generally acceptable. The descent is sustained with many short drops. The return walk is very short, taking only 5 minutes.
