Barranco de Jorox
The Barranco de Jorox is a short, aquatic canyon near the village of Jorox, with a 1-minute approach from the parking area by the bridge. The descent features 5 rappels, the longest being 22 meters, and takes about 1 hour. It requires two 25-meter ropes and a full wetsuit. The route includes a 4m rappel (R1) that can be downclimbed, a 10m rappel (R2) that can be split into a 4m rappel and a 6m toboggan (or a 10m rappel if water is high), and a 5m rappel (R3) with an uncomfortable access. The final 22m rappel (R5) is spectacular, descending an active waterfall into a large pool. Anchors are a mix of chemical bolts and parabolts. The return walk is 15 minutes.
