Barranc Llenguadera
The Llenguadera canyon, near Estavill, is a long, dry descent with 10 rappels, the longest being 17m. The approach takes 20 minutes, climbing to a water deposit and then following a flat path for 1.2 km before descending to the torrent. A 40m rope is needed, and a full wetsuit is recommended due to variable water levels, though it is often dry. The descent begins with a 17m rappel, followed by a 6m rappel. A 11m rappel requires a handline to reach the anchor. Subsequent rappels include a 5m drop that can be downclimbed, another 5m drop, and a slippery 7m rappel where it's possible to stay dry by going right. A 15m rappel also requires a mandatory handline. The canyon's anchors are excellent, consisting of M12 stainless steel parabolts. There are no escape routes. The descent takes 4 hours, with a 25-minute return walk.
