Barranc de la Llosa o Torrent de Pixavaques

The Barranc de la Llosa, or Torrent de Pixavaques, is a dry canyon requiring a car shuttle. The lower car is parked at KM11.8 on the C-462 from Solsona. The upper car continues past two tunnels on a rough track suitable for high-clearance vehicles. The 30-minute approach follows this track, taking specific turns, before descending to the streambed. The descent involves 9 rappels, starting with a 12m rappel from an anchor on a tree. The second is a 13m rappel requiring care with rope friction. The third is a long 45m rappel with free-hanging sections. A 18m rappel follows, then a 25m rappel where the anchor might be hidden by leaves. The longest rappel is 60m. Anchors are a mix of spits, parabolts, and trees. This canyon requires two 60m ropes and takes about 2.5 hours to descend, with a 20-minute return. No wetsuit is needed, but canyoning boots and booties are recommended for crossing the Cardener river.
