Lo Barranc
Lo Barranc, also known as 50 Barrancs, is located near La Guingueta d’Àneu and typically has low or dry water levels, with pools rarely exceeding knee depth. No wetsuit is needed. The 25-minute approach follows a track towards Dorve, then a path and diagonal traverse to the streambed. Anchors are good, primarily parabolts. The descent includes 5 rappels. After an initial downclimbable section, the first rappel is a long and aesthetic 25m drop with a handrail. This is followed by an 18m rappel, an 11m drop, a 12m rappel, and a final 15m rappel where one bolt plate is missing. The longest rappel is 25m. This canyon offers a good vertical experience with well-equipped rappels, though some maintenance may be needed on the last one. A 2x30m rope is required. The return is a quick 15-minute walk parallel to the stream.
