
Barranc de Núria o Gorgues de Núria
The Barranc de Núria, or Gorgues de Núria, is a highly aquatic and committing canyon with 17 rappels, the longest being 20m. The approach from Queralbs takes 1.5 hours, following the Núria ascent path to a dam where water levels must be assessed. The canyon is divided into two sections, with the first rappel from a metal support at the dam. Descent includes a 5m optional rappel that can be jumped or slid into a deep pool, with a fixed rope for ascent. Anchors are a mix of chemical and parabolt. A full wetsuit and a 40m rope are necessary. There are 7 escape routes. The return takes 30 minutes.
