Barranco de Os Lucas o Espierre

Barranco de Os Lucas, also known as Espierre, is an aquatic canyon with four rappels, the longest being 30m, requiring two 35m ropes and a full wetsuit. The 25-minute approach from Orós Bajo parking follows a track and then a marked trail to the canyon bed, where you can enter through a dam hole or bypass it. The descent begins with a large artificial pool. The first rappel is 13m from a cable handrail to a chemical anchor, descending left of a waterfall. A possible 10m jump depends on water levels, or a 3m jump. The second rappel is a short but scenic 8m, which can be jumped or slid as a toboggan. The third rappel is the spectacular 30m longest drop, following the rock folds to a shallow pool. The canyon is well-equipped with good anchors. There are escape routes available. The return walk is very short, taking only 5 minutes.
