Barranco Pilón Inferior is a dry, vertical canyon with a 1-hour approach from Millar, following a PR trail uphill to a collado and then traversing several torrents to the canyon entrance. A car shuttle is recommended, parking one car near Cortijo del Tornajico and another in Millar. The descent features 17 rappels, with the longest being 38m. The first rappel is 25m, starting on a gentle slope before becoming vertical with an overhang. Subsequent rappels include a 20m drop, a 16m drop, a short 6m rappel with a ground-level anchor, and another 16m rappel to an intermediate ledge. Anchors are parabolts. No wetsuit is needed. Escape routes are available. The return walk is a quick 15 minutes. This canyon offers a sustained vertical experience.
