Torrent del Polvorí Vell o Afluente de Sant Romà Combinación

Torrent del Polvorí Vell is a quick and entertaining dry canyon, ideal for combining with other nearby routes. The 5-minute approach involves walking 50m back along the road from the upper parking and entering the forest. The descent features 5 rappels, mostly equipped with ropes over trees, with the longest being 27m. The first rappel is 15m with a somewhat awkward start. The second is a more vertical and spectacular 27m drop. Subsequent rappels are 12m, 13m (where the rope might need changing), and a final 17m rappel. The canyon is generally dry, so no wetsuit is needed. The return involves ascending the Torrent de Sant Romà, which has some scrambling sections (grade II) with good handholds, leading to a path back to the road. The total descent takes about 1 hour, with a 15-minute return. A 2x30m rope is required.
