Barranc Rierol de Pratformiu

The Rierol de Pratformiu canyon, near Sant Llorenç de Morunys, offers 11 rappels with the longest at 32m. The approach takes 1 hour 15 minutes from the Cal Quelot rural house, following a track and then a path past ruins and a stone oven, eventually descending to the streambed. The equipment is very good, with parabolts, spits, and rock anchors. The descent features short rappels into shallow pools, including a 6m drop and a 10m ramp. Some sections involve downclimbing, with optional use of an anchor tree. The canyon typically has water in shallow pools, making a short wetsuit advisable. Several escape routes are available. The return walk is a quick 20 minutes. This route is suitable for those looking for a moderately vertical canyon with good anchoring and a mix of rappels and downclimbs.
