Barranco de la Raja de Alicún o Rambla Blanca

The Barranco de la Raja de Alicún, or Rambla Blanca, near Alicún de las Torres, is a short but intense aquatic canyon with a 15-minute approach. The descent takes about 1.5 hours and features seven rappels, the longest being 25m. A 2x30m rope is required, and a wetsuit is recommended due to stagnant water sections. The canyon begins with two short 4m rappels, leading into increasingly narrow walls. The third rappel is a 15m drop, with options for either side, one featuring a handrail. This leads into a highly constricted section with very high walls. The fourth rappel, 12m, drops into the first deep pool, requiring swimming through stagnant, murky water. Anchors are parabolts, generally well-equipped. The canyon has no specified escape routes, making it a committing descent. The return walk is very short, only 5 minutes, making for a quick overall trip.
