
Riera de l’Om o Cascadas de Goleró + Cova d’en Salvi o Goleró
The Riera de l’Om, also known as Cascadas de Goleró, is a normally dry canyon near Rupit, best done after rains. The 30-minute approach from Pla de Maia involves crossing electrified cattle fences to reach the stream bed. The descent consists of four well-equipped rappels over 500m, with stainless chemical anchors. The first rappel is 19m, followed by a 25m rappel, then a 23m rappel that can be combined with the final 27m rappel if using two 60m ropes. The last rappel, installed on a visible block, is considered the most scenic. Handrails are installed but may be unnecessary if dry. With high water, extreme caution is advised. The return walk is 30 minutes. The canyon is equipped with excellent stainless chemical anchors.
