Barranc de Riqüerna Superior + Inferior

The Riqüerna Superior and Inferior canyons are located in Capdella. The approach takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, starting from the village parking and following a path parallel to the Riqüerna river. The start of the Inferior section is passed first, allowing for a check of the water flow before continuing to the Superior section. The Superior section begins with a 6m rappel, followed by a 4m rappel into a narrow section, and a 5m downclimbable drop. A 6m rappel can also be done as a toboggan. The route continues with several small drops and toboggans, including a 3m jump into a pool with movement. The longest rappel is 25m. Anchors are parabolts with rings or maillons. The Inferior section has more water due to additional tributaries. The return walk is 10 minutes. This canyon requires a full wetsuit and a 50m rope. The water flow can be significant, with photos showing 1.88 m³/s in the Flamisell river, considered a good flow for the Superior section. The Inferior section typically carries more water. Several escape routes are available along the open riverbed.
