Salt del Mir o el Tombo
Salt del Mir, also known as El Tombo, is a short but spectacular canyon near Santa Maria de Besora, featuring a single 43m rappel. The approach takes 30 minutes, following a track past the La Cabanya del Mir restaurant. After an electrified barrier, take shortcuts on the left to reach the waterfall's head. If water levels are high, an access rappel from a tree may be necessary. The main rappel is 43m from two parabolts with a chain and double ring on the left. It is straightforward and allows you to easily avoid getting wet. You can also visit a nearby cave. The return walk takes 35 minutes, ascending stairs past old mill ruins to rejoin the track back to the parking area. A 2x50m rope is required, and a wetsuit is optional.
