Salt del Pi
The Salt del Pi is accessed from Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda, driving the narrow D53 towards Mas Pagris. Park where 3-4 cars fit after crossing a bridge. A car shuttle is possible by continuing up the road to a higher parking area. Large vehicles like camper vans may struggle with the narrow road. The 30-minute approach follows a marked trail, ascending in zig-zags, then joining the road to a higher parking area (if using a shuttle). From there, a descending path leads to the first rappel. The descent includes 10 rappels, with the first being 20m. A handline is needed to reach the anchor. Rappel on the right if water levels allow; an alternative anchor on the left is for higher flow but leads to an uncomfortable rappel into a stagnant pool. This aquatic canyon (a3) requires a full wetsuit and 2x25m ropes. The return walk is very short, only 5 minutes.
