Cascada de San Miguel El Viejo
The Cascada de San Miguel El Viejo is a seasonal canyon, potentially impassable during snowmelt and dry in summer. The 30-minute approach from the Angulo area involves crossing a hunting estate, following a track, and then a path along a fence to the riverbed. The descent features nine rappels, with the longest being 50m. The first rappel is short, leading to a more vertical anchor point to prevent rope friction. Anchors are excellent, primarily chemical bolts, with some older parabolt installations. A handline is available for high water conditions. The return walk is 20 minutes. A 2x60m rope is recommended. Wetsuit use depends on water levels.
