Barranc del Solà
The Barranc del Solà, near Astell, offers a 45-minute approach up a zigzagging track, cutting corners where possible. You'll pass the Barranc de les Forques before reaching the Solà. The descent features 11 rappels, with the longest being 27m. The first drop is a downclimb, followed by a spectacular 14m rappel. The second, 18m, can be split by an intermediate anchor. A 10m rappel from a hazelnut tree (missing maillon) leads to further descents. Anchors are excellent, with parabolts and chemical bolts. Water levels should be assessed from the road. A full wetsuit and two 30m ropes are recommended. The return is a short 10-minute walk.
