Torrent de Sant Gili Riu Fred

The Torrent de Sant Gili, combined with Riu Fred and Ribera Salada, is a highly aquatic canyon with 12 rappels, the longest being 7 m. A full wetsuit is essential. Access requires two cars: one left at Pont del Clop (the exit) and the other at Montpol (the start), a 5-minute drive further. The 15-minute approach involves a track, then a path through the forest to the watercourse. The descent is characterized by narrow, enclosed passages and a succession of short rappels, typically anchored with single spits or parabolts with maillons. The first rappel is 5 m. Due to dense vegetation in some sections, it may be necessary to remove backpacks to navigate tight spots. The route is best done in spring, autumn, or after rains to ensure good water flow. This canyon offers four escape routes, providing options to shorten the descent if needed. The return walk is negligible, as the exit car is positioned at Pont del Clop. The route is a good option for those seeking a sustained aquatic experience with numerous short drops.
