Tres en Ratlla o Canal Roja Montserrat, Barcelona reequipada

The Tres en Ratlla or Canal Roja canyon in Montserrat is a re-equipped dry canyon with 19 rappels, requiring a 2x30m or 1x60m rope. The 45-minute approach from Can Jorba parking follows a track and then a steep path marked with red blazes, eventually flanking into the valley to the canyon bed. Be aware that older topos may not accurately reflect the first rappels. The descent begins with a 5m rappel from a tree into a dark pool, which can be downclimbed. A traverse with a handline leads to an 8m rappel, also downclimbable. Further down, a ground-level handline guides to a clean 15m rappel, followed by a 5m rappel from a double parabolt anchor, which is also downclimbable. The return walk is a quick 10 minutes.
