Valporquero por Sil de las Perlas

This committing aquatic canyon, Valporquero by Sil de las Perlas - La Covona, requires a full wetsuit and two 35m ropes. The approach involves leaving one car at KM10 of LE-315 and a second at Mirador Atalaya de Valporquero, followed by a 15-minute walk to the entrance. The descent includes 13 rappels, the longest being 31m, along with fixed ropes, a 4m jump/traverse, and a toboggan/traverse. Notable features include the Gran Campana overhang, Paso de las Cuchillas, Sala del Lago, Paso del Reloj, and the Gran Cascada. Anchors are stainless steel parabolts and chemical bolts. Expect 5 hours for the descent through this active water course, followed by a 20-minute return walk. The canyon is rated v4-a3-IV, indicating a significant aquatic challenge and commitment.
