Barranco Viandico o Biandico
The Viandico or Biandico canyon, near Nerin, offers a short and aquatic descent with three rappels, the longest being 15m. The approach is a quick 10 minutes from the upper parking, following a path down to the Espucialla Bridge, where the canyon begins. Alternatively, you can enter via the dry Flageto tributary, which has four rappels (10m, 10m, 10m, 8m). The descent starts with downclimbs and stagnant pools that are easily avoidable. The first rappel is 8m into a pool, with its length varying by water level; if dry, it can become a trap. The second rappel is 6m into a large pool. After this, you'll pass several small caves before reaching a tributary that adds water to the canyon. The canyon is well-equipped with chemical anchors and requires a full wetsuit and two 20m ropes. The descent takes 2 hours, with a 25-minute return walk. A second car can be useful for shuttle, but parking options allow for a single-car approach.
