Castillo de Santa Catalina in Jaén offers year-round climbing on its grey and reddish limestone, accessible on foot from the city. The south-facing sectors are ideal for sunny winter days, while the north-facing sectors, shaded by pines, provide cooler options for summer afternoons. The rock is generally compact and a bit abrasive. Routes are mostly well-equipped with parabolts, though some older spits remain. Many routes have names painted on the rock for easy identification. This urban crag is suitable for a week of climbing and can be combined with exploring the city.
