El Vellón, near Guadalix de la Sierra, is one of the closest limestone crags to Madrid, with a very short approach of under five minutes from either of its two car parks. It features 137 short, explosive sport routes, typically 12-15 meters, on small overhangs. In winter, the crag can be partially submerged by the Pedrezuela Reservoir, sometimes requiring a boat or downclimbing to access routes. Due to its proximity to Madrid and easy access, it can get very crowded on weekends.
